The Flint Water Crisis - A Research Project
The city of Flint, Michigan, USA has endured a massive poisoning of it's water. Flint's water woes began on April 15, 2014 when the city switched it's municipal water from Lake Huron (via Detroit, MI) to the Flint River. As a cost-saving measure, government officials that were tasked with overseeing the project choose to ignore Federal laws and not treat with water with phosphates that make the water less corrosive. It was the corrosive nature of the Flint River water that eroded the city's lead water pipes which lead to the poisoning of Flint's citizens.
Lead is a heavy metal that affects every body system once consumed. Every citizen has been affected. Every citizen has been poisoned. What is their story?
